Our Mission

Envisioning the future of retail through insight, innovation, and impact
Work With Us

Rooted in Georgetown University’s tradition of academic excellence and global perspective, the McDonough School of Business is pleased to partner with the National Retail Federation (NRF) to create the NRF Business of Retail Initiative, which connects students, faculty, and industry leaders to explore emerging trends, drive cutting-edge research, and develop the next generation of retail changemakers.

  • Insight: Advancing Knowledge Through Collaboration
We bring together Georgetown faculty, students, and retail partners to produce research that shapes the evolving retail landscape.
  • Innovation: Inspiring Innovation Across the Value Chain
From digital disruption to sustainability, we explore what’s next — and help retail adapt and thrive.
  • Impact: Empowering the Next Generation
In partnership with the NRF Foundation, we connect students to internships, mentorships, and national industry programs — expanding access to meaningful career pathways in retail and beyond.

The NRF Business of Retail Initiative was established by a gift from the National Retail Federation Foundation with the goal of combining academic excellence with industry expertise. Together, we’re developing the next generation of retail visionaries, creating opportunities for students to engage with leading retailers on campus, gain real-world experience, and contribute to shaping the future of the retail industry.
